In the Year 2010, Novato turns “50” and the Novato 2010…Celebrating 50 Years Steering Committee is spearheading a year-long celebration of our special community!

How can you get involved in the historic festivities? We are contacting all civic organizations, churches, schools, non-profits, and local businesses to consider creating an event or project to celebrate and commemorate the City of Novato!

Here are just a few ideas:

1. Brand your existing event with “Novato’s 50th Birthday” theme
2. Create an event or activity to celebrate Novato. For example:
• A Novato Cleanup Day, with a goal of “50“ bags of trash collected
• An essay or photography contest, or art exhibit with a Novato focus
• A music or theater event that captures a moment in Novato’s history
3. Participate in an existing event.

However you choose to participate, this will be a year-long celebration in 2010. But, now is the time to begin planning your participation. Please, let us know now how your organization may want to become involved in Novato’s 50th Birthday Celebration - a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity!
